Safe exchanges are available for families in which children need to be exchanged between parents, usually for weekend or holiday visits. Families experiencing these situations can utilize the PTC as a safe alternative to conflicted confrontations, or exchanging children in parking lots, at police stations, fast food restaurants, and other public areas. PTC staff facilitate the physical exchange of the child(ren) and maintain a strict, no-contact policy for parents while at the PTC. Parents wait in separate areas while staff walk children from one parent to the other, eliminating any opportunity for face-to-face contact or other communications.
